In order to properly complete a ARIZONA title upon sale, follow the following instructions. If you have a lost or damaged Arizona car title, you might be able to sell cars as junk or get a car title replacement.
As the seller, you will make entries on the top portion on the back of the title in the “TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP” Section.
The first item is the “ODOMETER READING”. In that box enter your mileage EXACTLY AS IT APPEARS ON YOUR ODOMETER. DO NOT INCLUDE “TENTHS”. If the odometer does not reflect the actual miles on the car, check the box below that says“NOT ACTUAL MILEAGE – WARNING-ODOMETER DISCREPANCY”. If the odometer does reflect the actual mileage, then don’t check off any boxes.
Below the odometer reading in the next section on the left side of the title PRINT the seller’s name on the line shown. MAKE SURE TO PRINT YOUR NAME (OR NAMES) EXACTLY as it appears on the front of the title in the middle of the page in the “OWNERS/LESSEES” section. (DON’T USE SHORT NAMES OR NICKNAMES!). Where there are TWO registered owners listed on the title, you must check to see if there is an an “OR” , and “AND”, or and “AND/OR” to the far right side of the page next to registered owners’ names. If there is an “OR”, EITHER registered owner can sign and print their name using the instructions above. Otherwise, the signatures and printed names of of BOTH registered owners are required.
